Privacy policy.
How we handle the limited personal data submitted through our business-enquiry form. Because we operate between Kenya and Germany, this policy is drafted with GDPR principles in mind.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the enquiry form on this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have in relation to it. It applies only to enquiries made through this website; separate arrangements govern data exchanged under a signed supply, distribution or non-disclosure agreement.
Data we collect
The enquiry form on our Contact page asks you to provide a defined set of information so that we can respond to a business enquiry. This is limited to:
- Your name
- Your company or organisation
- Your email address
- Your telephone number
- The type of enquiry you select (for example, product information, distribution, government or tender procurement, or documentation)
- The content of the message you write to us, including any details you choose to include
We do not use this website to collect special categories of personal data, and we ask that you do not submit such data through the form. Our website uses only essential cookies required to make the site work; it does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See Terms of Use for related information about how the site operates.
Why we use it (purpose and legal basis)
We use the information you provide solely to review your enquiry, respond to it, and where relevant continue a business discussion — for example, to send product documentation to a qualified buyer, to evaluate a distribution or private-label enquiry, or to prepare information for a tender. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries from prospective and existing business partners and, where a business relationship is being formed, taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract. We do not use enquiry data for automated decision-making, profiling or unsolicited marketing.
Retention
We keep enquiry data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship are retained for a limited period sufficient to manage related correspondence and then deleted. As a general guide, enquiry correspondence that does not lead to a business relationship is kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Where an enquiry leads to a supply, distribution or other agreement, the associated records are retained for the duration of that relationship and for the further period required by applicable commercial, tax and record-keeping law.
Form processor and third parties
When you submit the enquiry form, its contents are sent to us as an email to the address above and are received and stored within our business email system. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. If we later introduce a dedicated form-processing service to handle submissions, it will act only as our processor, under our instructions, and we will identify it here. We may disclose data where we are required to do so by law, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Where data is transferred between our Kenyan and German points of contact, it is handled under this policy and protected by appropriate safeguards.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive your data in a portable form. Where our processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where you are located in a jurisdiction that provides a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, you retain that right.
Contact for data requests
To exercise any of these rights, or to ask a question about how we handle your data, contact Abdirahim Osman Aden by email at a.aden@saliido.info or in writing at Muthithi Rd. 32, Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
